Alejandro Iglesias Human science Family and Marriage Experience January ninth, 2017 Article IV In this article, we will investigate a portion of the various speculations of family and self-awareness and how they concur with each other. We will likewise break down the jobs of wedded couples as they become more seasoned with kids and the job of each ordinary individual relative in a speculative family unit arrangement. We will start by taking a gander at Erikson's eight advancement stages. 1. Learning Basic Trust Versus Basic Mistrust (Hope) Sequentially, this is the time of earliest stages through the first or two years of life. The kid when all around thought about , creates trust and security and a fundamental positive thinking. Gravely dealt with, the person in question gets unreliable and skeptical. 2. Learning Autonomy Versus Shame (Will) The second psychosocial emergency, Erikson accepts, happens during youth, presumably between around year and a half or 2 years and 3 to 4 years old. The all around thought about kid is learning new engine aptitudes and capacities, (for example, how to utilize the bathroom). This gives fundamental feeling of achievement that when all around sustained can be anticipated into sentiments of being pleased versus embarrassed. 3. Learning Initiative Versus Guilt (Purpose) Erikson accepts that this third psychosocial emergency happens during what he calls the play age, or the later preschool years . During it, the strongly creating kid learns: to envision, widening his aptitudes through dynamic play of a ll sorts, including dream, to help out others and to lead just as to follow. 4. Industry Versus Inferiority (Competence) Erikson accepts that the fourth psychosocial emergency is taken care of, regardless, during what he calls the young, probably up to and perhaps including some of middle school. Here the kid figures out how to ace the more conventional abilities of life . The kid who, on account of his progressive and fruitful goals of prior psychosocial emergency, is trusting, self-sufficient, and brimming with activity will adapt effectively enough to be innovative. In any case, the doubting youngster wi ll question what's to come. The disgrace and blame filled kid will encounter annihilation and inadequacy. 5. Learning Identity Versus Identity Diffusion (Fidelity) During the fifth psychosocial emergency pre-adulthood, from around 13 or 14 to around 20 the kid, presently a youthful, figures out how to answer acceptably and joyfully the subject of Who am I? But even the best - balanced of teenagers encounters some job character dissemination: most young men and presumably most young ladies explore different avenues regarding minor misconduct; insubordination thrives; self - questions flood the adolescent, etc. 6. Learning Intimacy Versus Isolation (Love) The effective youthful grown-up, just because, can encounter genuine closeness - the kind of closeness that makes conceivable great marriage or a real and suffering fellowship. 7. Adapting Generatively Versus Self-Absorption (Care) In adulthood, the psychosocial emergency requests generativity , both in the feeling of marriage and parenthood, and in the feeling of working beneficially and imaginatively. 8. Honesty Versus Despair (Wisdom) In the event that the other seven psychosocial emergency have been effectively settled, the develop grown-up builds up the pinnacle of alteration; trustworthiness. He believes, he is autonomous and dares the new. He buckles down, has discovered a well - characterized job throughout everyday life, and has built up a self-idea with which he is upbeat. He can be personal without strain, blame, lament, or absence of authenticity; and he is glad for what he makes - his kids, his work, or his leisure activities. In the event that at least one of the prior psychosocial emergencies have not been settled, he may see himself and his existence with appall and despair. 1 - Married couples (no kids) 2 - Childbearing families (most established youngster matured birth to 30 months) 3-Families with preschool kids (most seasoned youngster matured 2 to 6 years) 4 - Families with younger students (most seasoned youngster matured 6 to 13 years) 5 - Families with adolescents (most seasoned youngster matured 13 to 20 years) 6 - Families propelling youthful grown-ups (stage starts when most established youngster ventures out from home and finishes when most youthful kid ventures out from home) 7 - Middle-matured guardians (stage starts with void home and finishes at beginning of retirement) 8 - Aging relatives (stage starts with companions' retirement and finishes at their demises) I would expect the conjugal fulfillment rate to be

Human Phylogenetic Tree Lab Human Phylogenetic Tree Lab Home›Science Posts›Human Phylogenetic Tree Lab Science PostsDespite the fact that the table are well presented with full and accurate information, I would wish to add two more rows including weight and shape of the cranium. This is due to the fact that Orangutan, Gorilla, Chimpanzee and Modern Human have different body weight with varying cranium. Hence, by adding body weight and shape of the cranium, we will be able to know which one is heavy, the shape of its cranium and the reasons behind them.  For instance Orangutan is 86 Kg, Gorilla 75-85Kg, common Chimpanzee 33-48Kg and Modern Human 45-115Kg.The above phylogenetic scheme otherwise known as a cladogram in my opinion best describes the relationships between the Orangutan, Chimpanzee, Gorilla, and Humans. The first part basically represents human who are considered to be the most evolved of all other apes. The Hominidae family include two unique and distinct species of chimpanzee which include the   common chimp whose scientific name is Pan troglodytes and the Bonobo whose scientific name is Pan paniscu.Gorilla has two distinct species , the eastern gorilla whose scientific name is Gorilla graueri and the western gorilla whose scientific name is Gorilla gorilla. The orangutan also comprises of two species namely, the Sumatran orangutan whose scientific name is Pongo abelii and the Bornean orangutan whose scientific name is Pongo pygmaeus. The hybalotes (gibbon) is also part of the living genera of this Hominoidea family.Despite the fact that that there are some differences among each hominid species and modern man, there are also notable similarities in that they are closely related to modern man. For instance, both Chimpanzee and modern man in that both have tibia thicker and straighter, rib cage broad and extends past vertebral column and lastly, both have scapulae on the back, shoulder joints oriented to the sides.Similarly both gorilla and modern man have similarities in that they both feed on animals and plants. They walk upright for a longer period of time. Both gorilla and modern man have no tails and have many large, highly developed brains. Both orangutan and modern man are highly intelligent. They also have an enormous arm span with ability of stretching up to more than 7 feet. Both feed on insects, meat, fruits and plants. In both, there is a strong bond between mothers and their young ones. The real live human measurements that I gathered from myself and some of my classmates include ,a body height of approximately 5.5ft   for males and 5.3 ft for females, weight of a mature male is approximately 150 lbs and a females is 140 lbs ,the chest of a male is normally approximately 90 cm for males and 80 cm for females ,the thigh is normally approximated to be 54 cm in males and 60 cm in females and last but not least the hips of a male are normally approximated to be 90 cm and those of a female are normally approximated to be 100cm.

Urbanization Of Rural Areas And Urban Areas Essay

In 1800 only 2% of the world’s population lived in urban areas, today, more than half of the world’s population lives in urban areas (Torrey). Urbanization is the movement of people from the countryside to towns and cities which result in the growth of urban areas. Many people choose to migrate to an urban area for a better social and economical lifestyle. With the massive amount of people already living in cities and a surplus of people migrating to cities, this results in unemployment. The rising unemployment rate also increases crime for those people because they suffer from a lack of resources. Most people from rural areas are not qualified to work in urban areas due to lack of education. Urban areas offer better job opportunities, hospitals, education, and entertainment. Many components affect urbanization like overpopulation, pollution, government negligence, and deforestation. One of the leading causes of urbanization is the people migrating from rural to urban areas. Already there are more than half of the population crowding urban areas and then there are even more people occupying space. Uncle Tom s Cabin By Harriet Beecher Stowe Essay

In Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Harriet Beecher Stowe uses the character of Augustine St. Clare to play a very important role in expressing her views of abolition to the reader throughout the novel. St. Clare is, in himself, a huge contradiction of a character, as his way of life is supported by the same system that he despises, slavery. St. Clare professes multiple times in the book that slavery is wrong, yet he holds slaves and refuses to release them, making him a hypocrite whose morals are right, mainly because of his mother, but he is unwilling to do the right thing. Did the Vikings and Normans invade England for the same reason Free Essays

Introduction Throughout my essay I am going the explore the reasons in which the Vikings and Normans invaded England; and if there reasons were comparable. I will then investigate the Bayeux Tapestry and the techniques used to invade England. Then to conclude come to a conclusion wither the Vikings and Normans invaded England for the same/different reasons and the reasoning for my answer. We will write a custom essay sample on Did the Vikings and Normans invade England for the same reason? or any similar topic only for you Order Now From researching lots of sources I have established that the Normans came to invade England, where as the Vikings came to steal goods. On the surface it would emerge that the Normans invaded for political reasons whereas the Vikings invaded for social reasons. William Duke of Normandy thought he was the rightful heir to the throne of England, after King Edward died; however, Harold Earl of Wessex became King to William’s dismay and this lead to the invasion of the Norman army in 1066, other-wise known as the Battle of Hastings, which brought an end to Anglo-Saxon England. On the other-hand, the Vikings invaded for land and better quality of life, their homeland was sandy hilly, and not as fertile as Britain. However there was more to it than just to own more and land and possess more money and not forgetting having that honorable prestige status that comes with being wealthy. Denmark, Norway and Sweden, (we now refer to these areas as Scandinavia) was also over populated which added to the pressure of survival as food became scare and land to farm became even more rare, Britain became very appealing to Vikings whom simply wanted a better lifestyle, and would do anything to live the fantasy lifestyle of the British. Social and political reasons are a simplified view, and throughout my essay I am going to look deeper into the political, social and economic climate of this era. The Vikings and Normans also invaded for similar reasons. In the early 10th century, before the Norman invasion the Vikings also invaded for political reasons. This invasion begun when King Svien’s (Viking king of Denmark) sister was murdered for being outside the Dane law, her death sparked great vengeance for the King of Denmark. Following his sister’s death King Svien invaded Britain with intensions of taking over. Although he took control of some areas he died in 1014. The following year Cnut, Svein’s son, returned with an even greater defense force, and because King Edmund had died Cnut became king of all England. The Normans invasion was for social reasons, which was also quiet similar to the Vikings, the two army’s main aspirations were to have land, and live a better quality of life, and both would do this by any means necessary, but in a battle of two there is only one conqueror. In this case the Normans were the winners. This can be proven from looking at many different sources.† King Harold was killed’’– The D version of the Anglo-Saxon chronicle.†But the Normans, suddenly wheeling their horses, surrounded them and cut down their pursuers so that not one was left alive.Twice was this tactic employed with the greatest success† – William of Poitiers After the invasion, William recognized the principle that â€Å"all land belongs to the king† William squeezed this principle for every individual word. Numerous amounts of Norman archbishops’, earls, bishops, abbots and nobles were given land in exchange for soldiers when required for battle, land for a potential life that seems less than a fair exchange. Norman soldiers were also given land in which they too rented out to peasants. However this system seemed more economical (to gain wealth) rather than social. William and his family made a significant amount of money from this system, he done this by making sure everybody paid taxes, â€Å"He sent his men all over England†¦.and has them find out†¦what or how much everybody had who was occupying land in England in or cattle and how much money it was worth†Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Domesday as reported in The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. Unquestionably it would seem that wealth was a huge motivating factor. However it was also made apparent that money was a motivating factor for the Vikings too. Taking into consideration that the Vikings were traders and raiders and had been raiding England for years before they invaded, it is obvious that they knew that England was not well safeguarded and had good resources. They used this disadvantage to their advantage; Vikings were experienced traders and built up a good trading industry after settlement in England. Therefore, although we know they needed land, due to their homeland being over-populated and infertile, they most likely choose England, as opposed to somewhere else, for economic (wealth) reasons In conclusion one main difference in their reasons for invading England is that the Normans explaination for their invastion was justified on religious grounds, whereas the Vikings had no such motivations for invading England. It therefore would appear after investigating more closely at the politics, social, economic and religious climate that the Vikings and Normans had more in common for invading England than it first appears. The Bayeux tapestry is a very controversial topic, as it is the only piece of physical evidence we have to rely on relating back to the battle of Hastings, but did the battle of hasting ever take place, did the Normans ever invade England, could it just be a myth? After thorough research regarding the tapestry you learn that not only is the way in which Harold died questionable, the person who commissioned the tapestry is too. The individual who commissioned the Tapestry was Bishop Dodo, who was the half brother of William the Conqueror. When this fact was made apparent the tapestry’s genuineness became even more debatable. The controversy surrounding the tapestry’s means the embroidery can never be used as fact, because we do not know if it is fact or fiction. It’s a part of history that one has to have there own perspective on, although we do tend to use the tapestry as evidence of the battle of Hastings. There are three sections to the tapestry, section one of Bayeux tapestry scenes demonstrate the events leading to the Norman invasion and the Battle of Hastings The second section of Bayeux tapestry scenes show the preparations and the Norman Invasion fleet. The third section of Bayeux tapestry scenes illustrates the events of the Battle of Hastings. Normans are shown killing King Harold who is first shot with an arrow in his eye and then hacked to death by Norman armed forces, however further examination of the embroidery shows many possible ways in which Harold could have died. However many historians choose to believe that Harold was shot in his eye with an arrow We have seen from our examination of the Bayeux Tapestry how problematic sources can be. History is often like this. What evidence of the past we have, has survived by chance or because it is valued and kept. Now and again historians simply don’t have enough substantial evidence to be certain about what happened, and must fall back on educated estimation. Even so, to be a good historian, whatever account they come up with must fit with what evidence there is, which the Bayeux Tapestry is. However questionable the Tapestry may be it is often used to explain the battle of Hastings Bibliography http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/vikings/ http://www.nmm.ac.uk/explore/sea-and-ships/facts/ships-and-seafarers/the-vikings http://home.freeuk.net/elloughton13/vcontent.htm http://www.vikinginvasion.org/history.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/normans/ http://www.bayeuxtapestry.org.uk/ How to cite Did the Vikings and Normans invade England for the same reason?, Essay examples

Story Of An Hour And Sorrowful Woman Essays - The Story Of An Hour

Story Of An Hour And Sorrowful Woman The Story of an Hour and Gail Godwin's A Sorrowful Woman are both similar pieces of literary work in that both stories offers a revealing glimpse of extremely unhappy marriages. Both Mrs. Mallard and the unnamed mistress in A Sorrowful Woman called (the wife) seem to reveal a problem or possibly a disease which is plainly inherited through the institution of there marriages. They are so unhappy with the lives they lead and the person(s) in them they seem to drive themselves to there own death. The Story of an Hour seems to pick up in the middle of an on going battle of Mrs. Mallard's feelings towards that of her husband Brantly Mallard, (which seems to be a decent guy from this short story introduction). This is why you really can not come to grasps with her hatred towards Mr. Mallard and why she feels it. There is little introduction of the husband Brantly Mallard which leaves any thought or opinions of him completely to the imagination, while in A Sorrowful Woman the wife seems to be a very selfish, and self centered person who can care only for herself. Godwin describes mostly all characteristics about the husband and wife in that the wife tells her husband that the sight of himself and the child made her so sick she did not want to see them ever again. The husband being his very understanding self-comments ?he understood such things, and asked what would she like him to do? (33). In the begging Mrs. Mallard is so overwhelmingly happy (acting very distraught) to receive the telegram informing her of Mr. Mallard's death but she had to conceal her happiness simply because there were loved ones in her presence including her sister Josephine and Mr. Mallard's great friend Richard. It was he (Richard) who had received intelligence of the death as he was in the newspaper room and heard fist word of the rail road disaster with Brently Mallard's name at the top of the death list. Josephine had delivered this information just before Mrs. Mallard had stormed off to her room for the concealment and solitude that she had needed (12-13). For the wife in A Sorrowful Woman loneliness and solitude was all that she had wanted out of her family member role throughout the story. She was placed to bed the first night and was given a sleeping draught that was guaranteed to put her to rest swiftly after informing her husband that she wanted to be away and out of the sight of him and their little boy. For many days straight the wife remained there alone and to her self only to appear to wonder throughout the house aimlessly a few short times when the house was vacant. For Mrs. Mallard remaining in her room resting in her roomy armchair staring aimlessly out of the open window was to rejoice and unleash her true feelings of Mr. Mallard's death after a few short moments of morning (12). While in A Sorrowful Woman the wife was detained by her own state of misery and loneliness for she wanted to be away from both her husband and her child also (the majority of the time) sitting in her big chair staring out at the snow-ridden branches wearing her slacks and an old sweater (35). While there is no major role playing by Mr. Mallard in The Story of an Hour the husband in A Sorrowful Woman tries to be very caring in every way possible to his wife. The day after everything took place he brought her breakfast in bed and let her lay to rest until it grew dark again, and after taking there son for a walk he brought her up a tray of buttered toast, celery sticks and soup. She says to him ?I am the luckiest woman,? (crying) he then replies ?nonsense, you need a rest from us,? referring to there son and himself (34). He would then continue to take over all of the house hold duties such as: fixing her meals/sleeping liquids, doing dishes, making dinner for the himself and there son, taking and picking up there son from school, and holding down his employment at the office as well. All of these chores were beginning to become too much for him to handle by himself so with his wife's permission he hired in the perfect young girl that was very dynamic. After a short period of time the wife fired

Mustafa Concept, Types and Status of Wetlands in Bangladesh: The Ramsar Convention (1971) has defined wetlands as areas of marsh, fen, peat-land, or water, whether natural or artificial, permanent or temporary, with water that is static or flowing, fresh, brackish or salt, including areas of marine water the depth of which at low tide does not exceed six metres. The Ramsar definition of wetlands lumps together a wide range of contrasting habitats like fluvial, coastal and marine. Nevertheless, the Ramsar definition has been adopted and being used in Bangladesh. Wetlands of Bangladesh are classified on the basis of their hydrological and ecological functions and land types. Broadly wetland in Bangladesh is divided into estuarine and freshwater systems, which again further subdivided by soil type and plant life. Thus wetlands include areas of marsh, fen, bog, flood plain, and shallow coastal areas. Wetland area is characterized by sluggish or standing water that can create an open water habitat for wildlife. As I mentioned earlier wetlands in Bangladesh are represented by both inland freshwater and estuarine/tidal salt-water wetlands. Flood plains, beels (low-lying depressions in the flood plain), haors and baors (oxbow lakes) represent the inland freshwater wetlands (Khan et al. 1994). The haors are bowl-shaped natural depressions between the natural levees of the river subject to monsoonal flooding every year. While the haor itself is a seasonal water body formed during the monsoon, the beels are low-lying depressions of the haor system retaining water even during the dry months of the season. Thus, the haor system is a complex of both lacustrine and palustrine wetlands depending on the hydraulic behavior in different seasons. The ecology of the haor system is principally driven by seasonal hydraulics. During the monsoon, the entire haor system becomes a single body of open water linked to the river system. When floodwater recedes, the beels become isolated and remain as standing water bodies till the next rainy season. They differ from a true lake system in that the main source of waters in tropical lakes is rainwater, while a haor system depends on both precipitation and floodwater as sources of water. Estuarine/tidal salt-water wetlands constitute about 25 per cent of the land area and are represented by mangroves, salt marsh, lagoons, deltaic islands, sand dunes and beaches, barrier islands, sea grass and coral habitats. In the following table major types of wetlands of Bangladesh are presented. 1. Saltwater wetlandsa) Marine permanent shallow waters at low tide, eg bay coral reefs, eg St Martins reef b) Estuarine intertidal mud, sand or salt flats with limited vegetation, eg newly-accreted land intertidal marshes intertidal forest wetlands including mangroves, eg Sundarbans c) Lagoonal brackish to saline lagoons with narrow connection with sea 2. Freshwater wetlandsa) Riverine wetlands permanent rivers and streams including some char land, temporary seasonal rivers and streams b) Lacustrine wetlands There are thousands of lakes of varying sizes in Bangladesh, the greatest concentrations being in the main delta region covering the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Jessore, Faridpur, Comilla and Noakhali. c) Palustrine wetlands permanent freshwater marshes and swamps with emergent vegetation, permanent peat-forming freshwater swamps, freshwater swamp forest, eg hijal forests of lowland 3. Man-made wetlands aquaculture ponds (brackish and freshwater) irrigated land and irrigation channels salt pans hydro-dam, eg Kaptai Lake However, the areal extent of wetlands in the above classification is not available. A different classification is show to give idea about the wetland in Bangladesh which is rather indicative than exact as primarily because size of each wetland varies depending on season; Monsoon, for example when area under wetland increase by contrast during wet season it shrink. These are discussed in some details in the following sections. In a land scare country like Bangladesh where average population density is almost 1000 person per sq. m people in the marginalized category build their habitat/settlement in the wetland in the event of acute shortage of buildable high land. Flood plain areas are the treasure-house for rice- the staple food of Bangladeshi people. More than 100 varieties, some of which are even deep water tolerant, local rice are cultivated in these floodplains. Thus floodplain is the power house of rural economy in Bangladesh. S imilarly in the wetlands of Bangladesh more than 250 species of freshwater fishes are available. Freshwater capture fishery is an important source of employment in the fishery sector and the key supply source of animal protein especially for the rural people. About 200 million people still directly or indirectly depend on freshwater fishing for their livelihood (Tsai, and Ali, 1997). A part from that, wetlands are valuable sources of food (vegetable), fuel, fodder and traditional medicine in rural Bangladesh. For a vast tract of areas especially in the north-east, south and south-central part of Bangladesh both perennial and seasonal floodplains are they key means of transport and communication for the rural people. In the context of biodiversity (which includes: plant diversity, faunal diversity and habitat diversity) wetlands in Bangladesh perform significant role. These are important habitats for a large variety of flora and fauna of local, national and regional significance. In the freshwater wetlands the floral composition includes trees, shrubs and aquatic vegetation. More than 5,000 species of flowering plants exist in these wetland areas (Khan, 1998). Here wetlands support 660 species of birds which represents about 50% of the total number of bird species recorded from the entire Indian sub-continent, and over 7% of the known bird species in the world (Harvey 1992). On the other hand, rich aquatic biodiversity also includes 260 species of freshwater fish belonging to 55 families (placing Bangladesh third in the world in terms of fish species per land area) (Tsai and Ali, (Eds). 1997). At any rate, the known levels of endemism in the Ganges/Brahmaputra basin are very high: 25% of the aquatic species found in this basin are found nowhere else in the world. Because of its geographical position at the receiving end of the three major rivers, and given the dispersal behavior of aquatic biodiversity, the wetlands of Bangladesh become crucial for conserving the globally important biodiversity of the entire basin (Hussain, 1997). Likewise, the estuarine/ marine resources of the Bay of Bengal are part of the world’s largest malacological province. These resources include clams, oysters, scallops, snails, slugs, chiton, squids, octopuses and some others. The ichthyo-fauna of the Bay of Bengal includes about 475 recorded species of fish, 53 of which are cartilaginous and 422 species are bony fish (IUCN, 1989). Chowdhury and Sanaullah (1991) described 19 species of shrimps and prawns found in the marine waters of Bangladesh. At least seven species of edible oyster can be found in the coastal waters of Bangladesh. Apart from those wetlands perform significant ecological and environmental services and functions which could not be replaced by artificial means or adopting artificial method would entail significant cost. Among other the role of purification of water in the marsh is an important one. From the foregoing discussion it is evident that have a wide range of ecological, socio-cultural, economic and commercial importance and values in Bangladesh. Causes and Consequence of Wetland Degradation: Various development interventions/activities undertaken without much consideration of wetland ecosystems in the post independent period of Bangladesh have caused irreversible damage to the wetlands. For example, massive physical infrastructures in the form of rural road and flood embankment have been developed in the wetlands including floodplains and haor areas. Many of these infrastructures disregarded local topographic condition and natural water flow direction, which has often resulted in poor drainage or water logging and impacted on the local surface water regime. The critical point of such development activities in the wetlands led the transformation very rapidly at a massive scale. In the Ganges-Brahmaputra floodplain area, about 2. 1 million ha of wetland have been lost to Flood Control, Drainage and Irrigation development projects (FCDI). Introduction of HYV of rice which requires high inputs like mechanical tillage, chemical fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide, fungicide in fact caused irrecoverable damage of wetland habitat for freshwater fish and birds at the expense of higher food yield. In this indiscriminate use of agro-chemical and over exploitation of fish stock, especially brood fish by fisher community for their livelihood put the freshwater fish stock at the verge of extinction. A part from the above other human interference in the wetlands has been damaging the fragile ecosystem and to long term sustainability of the wetlands. For instance, in the southwest brackish water coastal plains of Bangladesh farmers used to have a paddy crop only during monsoon season when surface saline layer is depleted due to rainfall and for rest of the months the field is left for grazing. This cultural practice was established for centuries. However, in the last two decades this has been abandoned for more profitable shrimp farming practice. As a result, local ecosystems are threatened because of changed water exchange system, rapid siltation of the channels and continuous inundation of land with saline water. In the haor areas, large-scale settlement was initiated over the last couple of decades from surrounding densely populated regions and since then the resources of the haor basins are being exploited at an increasing rate causing adverse effects. Continuous large-scale exploitation of aquatic vegetation and fruits has caused serious degradation of the quantity and quality of the habitat required for fish and migratory birds of the haor areas. Similarly, embankment constructed for FCDI projects reduce floodplains and obstruct fish movement and migration from rivers as well as beels to the remaining floodplains for feeding and breeding. As a result, many fishermen have lost their livelihood. However, there have been some positive effects of wetland transformation as well. The major impact has been on cropping patterns and intensity. Dependence on local boro has been shifted towards HYV boro. In the FCDI project areas, culture fisheries have replaced the deficit of capture fisheries. The positive impact of development projects in the wetlands relates to improved road transport and communication network. This has led to an enhanced marketing infrastructure and relatively easy access to social and other services. Conversely, the navigation system has been either closed or substantially reduced. As a whole, degradation of wetlands has caused several problems including extinction and reduction of wildlife, extinction of many indigenous wild and domesticated rice varieties, loss of many indigenous aquatic plants, herbs, shrubs and weeds, loss of natural soil nutrients, loss of natural water reservoirs and of their resultant benefits, increase in the occurrence of flooding and degeneration of wetland based ecosystems, occupations, socio-economic institutions and cultures. Plan and Activities to Conserve Wetland: Overt the yeast Bangladesh Ministry of Water resources development, Land, Forest and Environment, and Fisheries and livestock in cooperation with various multilateral agencies ( like Worldbank, ADB), bilateral agencies (like USAID, DANIDA, JICA), intergovernmental agencies, and NGO (both international and national) initiated various institutional reform, plan and program to conserve and manage water resources in an efficient ways. Even though in most cases the focus of those programs were not on conservation of wetland however recently recognizing both the importance of conserving biological resources and the need for new approaches to floodplain, wetlands, and forest conservation and management, USAID/Bangladesh, in conjunction with the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock (MoFL), is implementing the Management of Aquatic Ecosystems through Community Husbandry (MACH) project to help promote the conservation and sustainable management of critical floodplain and wetland habitats (USAID, 2002). Likewise, DFID in cooperation with the Ministry of Land, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock (MoFL), is implementing Community Based Fisheries Management (CBFM). Apart from these IUCN [at present World Conservation Union] is implementing Wetland and Coastal Biodiversity project which has exclusive focus on haor, and estuarine/marine wetland ecosystem conservation. A part from the above there are relevant laws and acts and ordinance focusing on the conservation of environmentally critical areas, especially on wetlands. For example, Environmental Protection Act 1995, Environmental Conservation Rule 1997, Environmental Conservation Rule 2002 (amended) among other is aimed to protect water reservoir, wetland of ecological significance (Syed, 1998); however their implementation is fur from optimal. Concluding Remarks: Conservation of wetland is very important from various stands points. But the way in most cases conservation initiatives were taken in the past could be at best termed at command and control/top down approach. Which not only failed to get the support from the relevant, especially primary stockholders but also created resentment among them. It was primarily because, in the name of conservation without making alternative provision for their livelihood they conservator basically evicted the people dependent on the wetlands. As a result we saw huge/mass protest against the conservation of few flood plain beels and haors which were really reach in critical state due to over exploitation for fishing and indiscriminate use of chemical inputs for agriculture. Finally it could be said that wetland conservation efforts must be bundled with development scheme which will not only conserve wetlands but also will not undermine the alternative avenues of livelihood for people dependent on wetland in one way or another. That includes anonymized data from customers, plus 24 others from around the web. Some of these studies cross-reference one another, but each provides at least some degree of individual insight and opinions on the matter. Original Research: Later TrackMaven Buffer Hootsuite FreeCodeCamp Neil Patel (via Kissmetrics) Oberlo The Balance Raka Creative Unmetric Compiled Research: Buffer Hubspot Post Planner Falcon.io SurePayroll TruConversion The Huffington Post BizTraffic BootCamp Digital QuickSprout The Drum Search Engine Journal Maria Halthoff Impulse Creative Your "TL;DR" Best Times to Post in 2019 If you don't have time to read through the process behind how this data was gathered, that's okay. Here are some quick times for each network, laid out in a single detailed infographic, to help you get the answers you need quickly. Of course, it's also recommended to bookmark this post for future reference, and for when you do have time to sit down with it in greater depth. When is the Best Time to Post on Instagram? The popular visual social network isn’t much of a traffic driver (though it can be useful for directing targeted traffic toward specific pages using the one link you get in your bio), but it does have a highly engaged audience. Here’s when you can expect the most activity. B2C Businesses:  The best time for businesses selling consumer products here looks to be before work, over lunch, and when people are relaxing at home late at night. B2B Businesses:  The times for B2B are similar, with the most activity happening around lunch and after work. Software Businesses:  Not much change here either, though it seems like right before and right after lunch might be best. It's possible those of us working in software spend lunches looking away from screens. Healthcare Companies:  Healthcare businesses appear to do best at off-peak hours in mid-morning and early afternoon. Media Companies:  Driving traffic from Instagram is tough, but it's valuable for brand-building, even for media publishers. The best times are when people are just getting into work, taking their lunch break, or looking for an afternoon break. Higher Education:  When it comes to higher education, catching people after work appears to be most effective. It could be that people are responsive to the idea of advancing their education or making a career switch right when they're leaving work (hopefully you don't feel that way though). Instagram Network Summary Here are your best times broken down by industry (according to internal research by ): B2C: 8 am, 1 pm, and 9 pm. B2B: 12 pm-1 pm, 5 pm-6 pm, 8 pm-9pm. Software Services: 11 am, 1 pm, 5 pm. Healthcare: 10 am and 2 pm. Media: 9 am, 12 pm, and 3 pm. Higher Education: 5 pm - 6 pm Other Sources What about other sources, though? Later  says your best bet is to post between 11 am and 1 pm, and 7 pm and 9 pm. The idea is to catch people over lunch and when they’re winding down for the night. TrackMaven  narrows that down further to 7 pm on Fridays. HubSpot  suggests rolling with any time other than 3pm-4pm (when people may be deep in work), or considering 8 am on Mondays to catch people starting their work weeks. Post Planner, citing a study from Sprout, suggests avoiding 9 am to 4 pm when people are most likely at work. Falcon.io  suggests posting between 11 am and 1 pm (lunch hour for a lot of folks) or at 2 am (theoretically, this might mean catching people looking at their phones after bar close). Oberlo seconds the suggestion to post around lunchtime. TruConversion  reports that 2 am and 5 pm are the best times. That seconds the idea of posting in the early morning (late night?) hours, or right when people are leaving work. Hootsuite  says to post between noon and 1 pm, supporting the findings of several other studies. BizTraffic  deviates from other reports by saying you can post at literally any time on this network. QuickSprout opines that Fortune 500 companies post most heavily during business hours. The Drum suggests posting between 9 am and 6 pm Tuesday through Friday. When is the Best Time to Post on Facebook? Marketing on the world’s most popular social network isn’t as easy as it used to be. Organic reach has been in sharp decline for years, and it’s increasingly becoming a pay-to-play platform. But, that doesn’t mean it’s time to ignore organic efforts here. Optimizing your posting schedule is part of refining a broader strategy to get as much opportunity here as possible. B2C Businesses: Similar to Instagram, people jump on Facebook when they have breaks in their day. B2B Businesses:  And when it comes to B2B, it appears as though catching people when they need a brain break in the afternoon is effective. Software Businesses:  Again, for software companies, before work, after work, and mid-afternoon is best. It's notable that noon isn't the most effective (which could mean opportunity, or it could mean that time is just too competitive). Healthcare Companies:  Mornings work best for healthcare companies. Catching people when they're waking up is the best time here, which makes sense, since people may be looking for entertainment rather than improving their health later in the day. Media Companies:  The best times to catch people for news are when they're waking up, going to lunch, or just getting home from work. Those line up with times a lot of people catch up on news in general. Higher Education:  See a pattern emerging here? If you're sharing content for higher education, consider experimenting with the peak times shown below, and posting when there's less activity, too. Facebook Network Summary When the team crunched the data, the following times and ranges appeared to drive the most activity: B2C: 9 am to 10 am, 12 pm - 1 pm, 4 pm to 5 pm. B2B: 9 am to 4 pm, with 3 pm to 4 pm being the best. Software Services: 9 am to 5 pm, then it drops off. 9 am, 3 pm, and 5 pm are the best. Healthcare: 6 am-7 am, 9 am, 11 am-Noon. Media: 7 am, 11 am, 6 pm. Higher Education: 8 am, Noon, 3 pm. Other Sources Here’s what other sources say about general best times to post: Hootsuite  suggests posting between noon and 3 pm on weekdays. That’d catch people on lunch, or when they’re looking for an afternoon distraction. Bootcamp Digital  suggests following the times your Insights say are best, posting 1 to 4 times a week with high-quality content. TrackMaven  suggests that 8 pm on Thursdays is the best time. Hubspot  says 1 pm to 4 pm is generally best. Falcon.io’s findings are similar, saying that noon to 4 pm is where most of the action is at. When it comes to Facebook Live, a study from FreeCodeCamp  found 6 am to 7 am, Monday through Friday, provided the best results. One caveat: it’s extremely important to test this data for yourself. Fortunately, they provide an entire framework on how to do this (provided you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with coding and APIs). The Balance adds that Facebook Live videos are getting significantly better performance than other types of posts. Search Engine Journal says Facebook Live videos get 6x the engagement of traditional video content, but they need to be timed to align with when your audience is most active. QuickSprout says times vary in different industries, but most see a boost later in the week. Unmetric says the sweet spot is between 9 am and 2 pm. Maria Halthoff recommends posting at 9 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends. Impulse Creative suggests that the worst time to post is between 8 pm and 3 am. When is the Best Time to Post on Twitter? Twitter is a high-volume network and it works best when you have a steady stream of relevant content. But, can you expect more engagement and clicks at certain times of day? B2C Businesses: People use Twitter all day because it's so frequently updated, but catching people when they're waking up and winding down lines up with when most people do their heaviest web browsing. B2B Businesses:  That's (mostly) true whether you're in B2C or B2B. Software Businesses:  Promoting software services on Twitter deviates somewhat from other B2B and B2C verticals, in that it's best to catch people when they're in a work mindest and are taking a break from their tasks, or heading home. Healthcare Companies:  Mornings and evenings are your bread and butter for healthcare. Media Companies:  Media companies and bloggers are some of the heaviest publishers of Twitter content. While it's advisable to maintain a consistent stream of content throughout the day here, these are the times you can expect the most engagement. Higher Education:  Stick to mornings and evenings here. Twitter Network Summary B2C: 8 am-10 am, Noon, 7 pm-9 pm B2B: 7 am-8 am, 11 am, 6 pm, 9 pm Software Services: 10 am, 2 pm, 6 pm Healthcare: 9 am, 6 pm Media: 6 am-7 am, 11 am, 7 pm-8 pm, 10 pm Higher Education: 8 am, 5 pm, 7 pm, 9 pm Other Sources And of course, here’s what other research says: According to a Buffer  analysis of over 4 million tweets, posing between 2am and 3am gets the most clicks on Twitter. TrackMaven  pins down the best time at 5 pm on Thursday. Hubspot  suggests noon to 3 pm or 5pm as the best times. Falcon.io  says noon is the definitive best time, with 5pm as the runner-up. Bootcamp Digital  simply suggests posting 2 to 10 (or more) times per day, spread throughout the day. QuickSprout suggests avoiding weekends, and also says that CTRs are highest between noon and 6 pm. Raka Creative suggests posting at 7-8 am, noon, or 5-6 pm between Tuesday and Thursday. PostPlanner keeps it simple and suggests the best time is at 5 pm on Thursdays. When is the Best Time to Post on LinkedIn? LinkedIn is a professional network, and so naturally, the best time to reach people there is when they’re taking a break from work. Or is it? Here’s what the data shows: B2C Businesses: It appears as though to best time to catch people on Twitter may be around their lunch breaks from work (for those working a 9 to 5 schedule). B2B Businesses:  When it comes to B2B audiences though, which may be more professionally-focused than broader B2C audiences, the mantra of catching people before work, at lunch, and after their evening commute holds true. Software Businesses:  Software services are the same. If you want to reach professional audiences, you've got to reach them when they're not deep in work (and oftentimes we use software services to get work done). Healthcare Companies:  Healthcare stands out somewhat from other verticals, with mid-morning to early afternoon being most effective. Media Companies:  People often read their LinkedIn feed in the morning like they'd read a morning newspaper. So, it makes sense that publishers see the greatest amount of effectiveness early in the morning. Higher Education:  Higher education may not be huge on LinkedIn, though mid-morning seems to work best (possibly catching people taking a break from work, when they're open to career and educational development opportunities). LinkedIn Network Summary The biggest takeaway here is that people use LinkedIn for professional development. So, the best times to reach people here are when workers in the industry you're targeting are taking breaks in their workday. B2C: Noon B2B: 8 am, 10 am-Noon, 6 pm Software Services: 9 am, 11 am-Noon, 5 pm-6 pm Healthcare: 10 am, Noon-2 pm Media: 8 am Higher Education: 10 am Other Sources Here’s what some other sources have to say: SurePayroll  suggests posting between Tuesday and Thursday at no specific time. The Huffington Post  suggests those same days, but narrows down 10am to 11am on Tuesday as the best day and time. BizTraffic  advises 7am, noon, and 5pm all work well. This makes sense for targeting professional audiences on an 8 to 5 schedule. Curated findings from Post Planner  support this advice. TruConversion  suggests morning through noon, Monday through Friday. When is the Best Time to Post on Pinterest? Pinterest is vastly overlooked as a marketing platform. If strong visuals are part of your content marketing strategy, then it makes total sense to get on Pinterest (especially if your audience is active there). But, when it comes to timing, the data from customers showed little correlation between times and performance. It isn’t a platform where timing necessarily matters as much as sharing the right kind of content consistently. From curated research though, these times may serve as solid guidelines: 8–11 pm with 9 pm peak 2–4 am and 2–4 pm 1–3 pm Fridays and Saturdays may be the best times. This makes sense since people often use Pinterest to plan projects (and weekends are a good time to plan for the coming weeks). What Are the General Best Days to Post on Social Media? In addition to refining your timing, taking days into consideration is important too. This is particularly true on networks where you might not post every day. So, make the most of every piece of content you share with these guidelines. Best Days to Post on Facebook Network Tips: Avoid overly-promotional content. Hashtags underperform here. Mix up posts with and without links. Best Days to Post on Instagram Network Tips: Stick to using one filter. Avoid posting more than once per day. Consider sharing late at night and on weekends. Best Days to Post on Twitter Network Tips: Twitter is a high-volume platform. Mix original and curated content. Maintain a steady stream of tweets. Best Days to Post on LinkedIn Network Tips: Post during weekdays. Keep your tone professional. Reach commuters around 7 am and 5 pm. How Do You Know When Your Followers Are On Social Media? One of the reasons you want to know when to share on social media is because you want to get more traffic to your blog. It makes sense, then, to post your content to social media when you typically get the most traffic from your unique audience. Grab these three Google Analytics custom reports (available in your kit that complements this post)  to help you know what times and days you typically get the most traffic  and measure your progress every day. Here's how: Find Your Best Day To Post On Social Media Kick off your research with the Best Days To Post On Social Media report. Your highest-trafficked date is on top of the list. Click through on any date to see your best time. Now you can correlate this back to your social media posting schedule when you sent messages to each specific network. What’s New in This Post? You may have seen versions of this post before. It was first published back in 2014, and it has been regularly updated since then. But, things have changed enough that it warranted a total overhaul. Some changes include: All studies pre-2016 have been removed. Anything that far out-of-date has been taken out. Newer studies have been added. Because as was suggested above, recency matters. Including a wider variety of sources also helps to provide broader insights. Google+ data is now gone. Google is no longer supporting the consumer version of the network. Original data from (anonymized) customers has been included. helps marketing teams organize projects and team members all on one platform with an easy-to-use calendar interface. Since that includes scheduling social media posts (and the tool has robust analytics built in), it only made sense to contribute original research (in addition to curating findings from other sources). In other words, this post is now better researched and more useful than ever. Methodology Performance metrics from were based on anonymized data gathered from a broad cross-section of customers, including those who manage social media marketing for multiple clients. Other reports are from reputable third-party sources. Each has been vetted for its methodology, trustworthiness, and value of its insights. There are plenty more studies and blog posts on this topic out there too, and many of those are very good too (even if they’re not included here). As always, use these sorts of findings as guidelines, rather than strict rules on the right and wrong way to handle your social schedule. If your own results contradict this (or any) study, go with what works, versus what â€Å"experts† have said. Recommended Reading: How Often to Post on Social Media: Proven Research From 14 Studies Breaking Down Times By Industry This post analyzes best times based on seven different verticals. These include: B2C companies: These are companies that sell products to consumers and the public at large. B2B companies: These are companies that sell products and services to other businesses. Software service providers: These would be companies (like ) that offer software as a service (SaaS). Healthcare: Hospitals and health insurance companies fall under this vertical (for our purposes). Media: News organizations, blogs, and magazine websites are some of the heaviest users of social media. Higher education: Colleges, universities, technical schools, and other institutions of post-secondary education are categorized here. It’s possible for a company to fit into more than one category (for a couple of examples, a software company could also be either a B2B or B2C company, or a media company might be part of the marketing division of a B2B or B2C company). However, these industries were chosen in order to give this post more industry-specific granularity while being broad enough not to get overly complicated. Other Caveats When examining data, it would be easy to think that the times companies post the most would be the best, because more posts would naturally equal more total engagement at those times. So, members of ’s product development team were mindful to weight and score times by the amount of engagement relative to the total number of posts analyzed per hour in order to avoid this issue. This helps ensure that the data shows the most effective times, to the degree that it’s possible to quantify them. It’s timing nuances like these that make finding the perfect times to post even harder. Before we delve into the best times to post on social media, let's take a look at the best time zones. 50% of the U.S. population is in the Eastern Time Zone, and the Eastern and Central combined represent almost 80% of the U.S. population. theory, the Eastern or Central time zone would be the best time to base off for a United States audience to reach the most people through your social media shares. For those of you who have audiences outside the United States, demographic research like this is simple enough with Google Analytics to understand where your own audience is, giving you the opportunity to target their time zones accordingly. There are also a few tools to help you find when your own audience is online and using the social networks you're concentrating on- which helps you understand the best times to share based in your local time zone. Read on to learn more. How To Use This Data To Reach More Followers With Every Social Post As you can see, not everyone agrees as to the best timing for social posts, and when they do, it's often because they're referring to the same source. Even using data doesn’t provide a perfect answer, because it doesn’t take into account: Different industries Different audiences Different goals (e.g. clicks vs. reshares) So, putting this data to work for you in an attempt to find optimal social media posting time involves four possible outcomes: 1. Pick One And Stick To It You might decide to use one of the sources listed in this post and stick to what they found. Consistency in approach has its benefits; certainly, your audience gets used to what to expect. However, you may not see the success you could. Maybe you picked the wrong one, or are limiting yourself too much. 2. Use A General Approach Of Several You could use a broad swath of ideal posting times, mixing together the days and times of several of the data sources in the hopes of finding a fit by covering a wider range. For those of you wanting to do this, check out the summary that combined the results of the data covered. This approach might work, but you’ll have more ground to cover and more work to do in order to create and publish posts to cover larger blocks of time. 3. Find The One That Works For You By this, you might start with one set of research, stick to it, measure it, and note the results. Then adjust that with different days and times, and do the same measurement and data recording. In other words, test it out. See which one works for you. Not every industry is the same. Neil Patel even noted, for example, that the fashion industry sees better success on Pinterest with a slightly different approach. The real takeaway? Start with this data as a guideline, then tweak your own schedule based on your own findings. That’s the only way you can honestly know if you’re posting at the best times. Automate Your Posting Schedule With Best Time Scheduling Refining your social media schedule takes time and experimentation. But, if you need some automated assistance to help you set it and forget it, there’s Best Time Scheduling in .It’ll help you get more engagement, shares, and click-throughs by scheduling posts at the best times for you. The European Central Bank or the ECB and the Bank of England or the BoE did not allow the interest rates to change and in a survey by Halifax, it was clearly revealed that house prices had reduced by 1.2 percent in June 2006 (Sterling slips on UK/euro zone rate expectations, 2006). Further, in May 2006, there was a spurt in manufacturing and in the first quarter of 2006, the mortgage equity withdrawal increased to approximately twelve billion pounds sterling. In this context, the president of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet stated that the interest rates would not be altered (Sterling slips on UK/euro zone rate expectations, 2006). However, he hinted that the ECB was likely to increase the interest rates. Suggestions for marketing strategies to a newly opened delicatessen Essay

Suggestions for marketing strategies to a newly opened delicatessen - Essay Example Marketing deli products in an exclusively village setting would require the delicatessen to focus attention on the consumer demographics such as incomes, ages and preferences. These factors would have a much greater impact on the delicatessen’s decision to locate in a village. Thus the primary and immediate assumption is that there are no other deli shops in the village or the existing ones aren’t so well geared to meeting the demand for deli products. Marketing strategies range from those which advocate market domination to those of Porter’s Generic Strategies; from innovation strategies to growth strategies that depend on integration related synergies; and from strategic archetypal models to warfare marketing strategies (Kotler, 1991). Market domination strategies are based on the understanding that any marketing strategy must have as its core objective the domination of the market. In other words the firm seeks to lead, challenge, simply follow or develop a niche market. There are three types of market dominance strategy. The price leader who sets the price for the rest of the market or industry must have a set of predetermining characteristics such as the ability to set the market ruling price at its will so that other competitors would have no alternative but to follow him. A delicatessen in a village is less likely to benefit from this strategy unless the village is already being served by some competitors who sell an approximate range of delicacies. Similarly the other two types of the market dominance strategy, the quantity leadership or challenger, are of little or no significance to the delicatessen in the village. This paper would thus focus on a hybrid marketing strategy that would include some of the features of the above marketing strategies in addition to the writer’s own analytical perspectives (www.ama.org). In a village of approximately 9,000 people a substantial policy of product differentiation is

These transitions often cause many aspects of a man’s life to change. This means that there are many contrasts when you compare lifestyles of single men and men in a relationship with one woman. A guy may enjoy or hate living his life single. Often times a single lifestyle consists of merely hanging out with guys and girls just as friends, and having fun. Monday and Rigorous Instruction

Troublesome I got into trouble with my English teacher, Sir Aizo. Last Tuesday, Sir Aizo had given us two sets of homework to be completed by today. He gave rigorous instruction that we had to submit them today. That way, he could correct them over the weekend and go through the mistakes with the class on Monday. The moment I arrived home, I quickly put down my back, took out the two worksheets and completed doing them. I clearly remember putting the worksheets back into my file once they were completed. When I went to school today, Sir Aizo asked us to hand in our homework.I took out y file confidently but for some reasons that I could not think of, the worksheets were not in there! I gave out a loud gasp. I then thought that maybe I had put them into my bag directly rather than in the file. I rummaged through the bag but in vain. The worksheets were nowhere to be found. I simply could not remember where they were. I knew that I had done them and kept them decently. However, since I could not find them, I had no option but to tell Sir Aizo. I walked towards the teacher's table with tentative steps. I was preparing myself for a lecturer and a punishment. The class hushed when they realized what I was doing. They held their breath as they waited for the scene to happen. When I approached Sir Aizo, I could barely find my courage to talk to him. I told him what happened. My heart was pounding against my chest. As expected, Sir Aizo was fuming mad. He started to scold me about my lack of discipline, time management, my irresponsibility and so on. He told me to be more careful in the future. For the rest of my day, I was feeling sorry for myself. Eloquently, I tried to rack my brains to figure out what could have happened to my work.

Essay on Sociology and Social Power - 827 Words

Part 2: Introducing Sociology People today blame themselves more and more for every bad thing or troubles they have on personal fault rather then looking towards the social issue (Mills 1959, pg.1). In the article The Promise C. Wright Mills say that the individual can understand his own experience and gauge his own fate only by locating himself within his period, that he can know his own chances in life only by becoming aware of those of all individuals in his circumstances (Mills 1959, pg.2). This means that people can understand themselves better if they look past themselves and start looking at in conditions as a whole, not just blaming yourself but seeing that there is a problem in the society and you cannot necessarily†¦show more content†¦I have had the experience of rolelessness when I was about 15 and working for my father. He would always be telling me what to do and how to do it and always having someone older help me, even though it wasnt a challenging task for me and would only assign ind ependent tasks if I was as complex as picking up trash. This underestimation of me made me feel as if I was useless and just a burden on him. Coontz then looks past the troubles of one couples marriage fights and into the social relationships that have been created in our society (Coontz 1997, pg.13). Social relationships have to do with situated social power. Situated social power by Coontz definition is, various groups in society have unequal access to economic resources, political power, and social status, and these social differences limit how fair or equal a personal relationship between two individuals from different groups can really be (Coontz 1997 pg13). I have personally experienced situated social power with my dad. He has said to me that I can do whatever I want to do, but that really isnt the case, there is actually only one correct decision and he is feeling like he has put the decision into my hands but I know if I do the decision that he doesnt want me to do there will be consequences. Then in the end, he just being my dad had made me make my decision with only one real choice.
